No matter what the financial and economic “experts” may say … ‘BEHOLD — IT IS ALL VERY GOOD’
Listen up to WAYNE WILLIAMS in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago:
Down here in the Caribbean, where I currently reside, the Government has recently announced that revisions will be made to their fiscal plans for 2009, in light of the (so-called) “world-wide economic crisis.”
And the media (according to their mode of thinking) summarized the entire announcement as a call to one and all to …
… “prepare for hard times.”
No real surprise there. I’m not a journalist by any account, but I appreciate that, according to their mind-set, “bad news sells papers.”
Nonetheless, I (and the rest of the population) had a choice to make upon the publishing of their headlines of “doom and gloom.”
And the two points upon which we have to choose are mutually exclusive:
A) Reject their prophecy of “hard times are a-coming,” and begin working (both mentally and physically) towards the realization of prosperity, wealth and abundance,
OR
B) Accept their suggestion and (almost immediately) become a point of attraction for poverty, want, lack and limitation.
I made my choice, in accordance with the following wise words, which just about everyone here will recognize:
“Do not read anything which fills your mind with gloomy pictures of want or suffering.”
I could have only made this choice, backed by faith in the ability (which I and every other person possesses) to realize prosperity.
And the only way to acquire this faith is by gaining an understanding of how anyone may attain to Wealth.
And the only way to gain Understanding (whether of the subject of getting rich, or anything else) is through Studying.
And for that, I am Grateful.
“Behold — it is all very good.”
Wayne Williams
P.S. Read Chapter 16 of The Science of Getting Rich for Wallace D. Wattles’ “Cautions and Concluding Observations”
Last night’s Science of Getting Rich Club was filled to the brim with new faces (and some familiar ones)! It was great to see the room full of people eager to discuss the principles of success. It was a special treat to have Mark Maxon present in the absence of Steven Sharp. Mark entertained us with stories from his life and inspired us with excerpts from his book, Achieving Excellence in Life. At the end of the meeting, everyone in attendance got a free copy of the book and Mark even stuck around long enough to personally sign every one’s copy! Thanks Mark!
There were so many new people that I wanted to get to know and learn from, but unfortunately there just wasn’t time to get around to talk to everyone I hope they keep coming back to give me a chance to get to know them.
One woman who attended talked about some of her coaching clients and how to identify their blocks to success. She offered the analogy, “One sure-fire way to know you have monsters is – you have monster poop! (evidence that something in your life is not ideal) To get rid of the monsters, you MUST STOP FEEDING THEM!” (conjuring up images of feeding stray cats, if you don’t want them at your house – quit feeding them)
Some of the “monsters” that we discussed were: Worry, Fear and Lack of Forgiveness. The moral of the analogy is, STOP WORRYING, STOP BEING AFRAID, and FORGIVE YOURSELF!
Mark then summarized his Success Formula as outlined in his book as follows:
1)Identify what it is that you want
2)Visualize what you want in detail
3)Make your declaration (not affirmation) starting with “I am…”
****Side note on this one – if you say “I am wealthy.” Your conscious mind may fight you, so Mark suggests you ask yourself the question “How am I wealthy now?” In fact, Mark suggested asking yourself constructive, quality questions every day such as, “How can I…?” and “What can I do today to…?”
4)Write it down – Mark suggests that this step brings your vision from the intangible world into physical existence.
5)Take action – and if you don’t know what action to take, ask someone who has what you want.
6)Opportunity will present itself. This is where Mark and I disagree, I think opportunity is already there – all around you every day just waiting for you to become aware of it – so I don’t see this as a step. Nevertheless, Mark is the expert and he has included it as a step in his book.
7)Recognize, or become aware of the Opportunity
8)Implement the 5 steps of Influence – which of course, are in the book. (we didn’t have time to go into the 5 things) If you don’t have a copy of the book, you can pick it up at http://www.lifeworksintl.com/products.htm
Mark gave a great presentation and I thouroughly enjoyed comments and insights that were shared by the group (as always) but I especially like visiting with people afterwards! Steven Sharp, you have put together a truly magical group here. I want to support you in what you’ve started – it’s incredible, and anyone that wants to make more of themselves deserves to come to these meetings. I am excited for the future of this Club!
There has been a great deal of discussion lately about the concept of “being in the now”. And I’ve really liked the discussions and agree wholeheartedly with the concept. I also like cake. And on the show “Sunday Morning” with Charles Osgood today, there was an interesting exchange about cake.
Anthony Mason was interviewing Kate Winslet. Towards the end of the interview, Anthony made the following comment, “It’s very important to know when the cake is in front of you, that it’s there.” Kate’s immediate reply was, “Yes, I know, and it’s also very important to eat the entire thing.”
Last week at The Salt Lake Science of Getting Rich Club one of the things we discussed was how and why the Law of Attraction works. As we discussed this concept I reflected on my own experience with the Law of Attraction and examples of when I have noticed it working in my life.
There have been several occasions where I have set the intention of attracting something into my life and it has come to me in various ordinary ways. Which leads me to believe that the way to master the Law of Attraction is simply to focus our attention to our intentions. Then, observe the results.
Sounds simple doesn’t it? Well, I propose that the things that we want to “attract” into our lives are already in our lives, we’re just not aware of it. By focusing our attention on our intentions, we become aware of the things that are already surrounding us that we desire. Now, it’s just a matter of taking the action necessary to take advantage of our new-found awareness.
Knowing that everything that we desire is already within reach makes it that much more simple to get a hold of. It’s a very relaxing concept to me. The trick, then, becomes knowing what action to take in order to obtain the things we desire. The good news is, action is completely within our control.
Love is the highest frequency energy in the Universe. It is the positive energy that drives and powers the Universe. When you raise your own personal frequency—the frequency of your thoughts and emotions—to match the Universe, you will be floating along in concert with the Universe instead of going against it. In other words, you have the opportunity to grab your board and go Surfing the Love Vibration.
So how does one grab the wave?
· Whenever you are confronted with an unpleasant situation or conflict, send love as your advance guard. Stop before you speak. Instead imagine sending out pink light from your heart or throwing a net of love over the participants.
· Before you enter a situation you think might be confrontational, shower yourself in pink light. Feel yours elf being loved and embraced by the people you are soon to encounter.
· When you feel down, depressed, unworthy, unloved or unattractive — give yourself a love bath! You are a fabulous human being, a part of the Universe’s essence. Remember that you are loved and that you must love yourself. By doing so, you will attract more love.
· Love those who you often forget to love. People such as mailmen, auto mechanics or store clerks who make your life easier and provide service to you.
· Forgive and love difficult relatives, ornery neighbors, demanding bosses, forgetful boyfriends, nagging wives, bad waiters, clueless salesclerks, crabby seniors and anyone else that has been an annoyance in your life previously. Love them ’til they begin picking up your “vibe” and begi n behaving differently!
· Choose love first when you must have a heart-to-heart talk with your loved ones—no matter what the topic. Start from that framework — not anger, disappointment or need. State what you are feeling and perceiving, and then ask what he/she feels about the matter and what is that person’s perception. Don’t accuse or demand. Seek compromise.
· Practice random acts of kindness. Whether it’s for someone you know or someone you don’t, such acts of grace are a powerful message of love in the Universe.
· When you feel fear, seeks its opposite. Are you afraid of success or failure? Are you afraid of trying something new? Are you afraid to voice your feelings? Whatever you fear can be transformed with love. Give yourself love and permission. Trust the Universe to help you, once you’ve administered that love.
· When in doubt, spout love! Not sure what to do or how to handle something? Just send out waves of love. Direct them toward anyone that impacts you and your decision. Direct them toward the desired outcome. Direct them toward yourself. Direct them toward the Universe.
· Love the World! Love the Earth and its inhabitants—all living things. Love the people who are courageous and conscious leaders. Love the people that put their lives on the line to protect us (police, firefighters, servicemen and women, search & rescue). Love the people who live a conscious life—and love those who don’t so that they may become conscious and caring. Love the animals, sea creatures and insects that share our Earth. Love the food and water that sustains us. Love truth, integrity; and respect everyone so that they may become the social engine that drives the world forward.

Here is a recap of our meeting for Thursday, February 12th, 2009:
The primary topic of our discussion was, “There is a science of getting rich”.
We started the discussions with a short piece about gratitude from Brian Kim. You can learn more about Brian Kim at his website: briankim.net. Here is what we read from Brian last night:
One of the reasons why gratitude is such a powerful tool in self improvement is because it can inject positive emotions into your mind, rather than have it clouded by negative emotions of worry, doubt, and fear.
You feel a sense of peace and a feeling of “richness” when you stop and really think and feel about what you’re truly grateful for.
And when you operate out of that mind full of positive emotion, it gets you centered, balanced, and in a state of mind where you can then make the objective decisions you need to make, free from anxiety, fear, and worry that will eventually bring into your life, even more things you’ll be truly grateful for.
And on the subject of gratitude, Steven had replied to a question posed to him on facebook, asking him how he’s been doing for the past three and-a-half weeks since graduating from WGU with his MBA. His response was, “Gradually graduating to greater gradations of gratitude!”. Thanks for asking, Emily!
There were two articles that were referenced during the meeting. Both of these articles were found on the Internet as a result of doing a search for the Werhner von Braun quote regarding the laws of the universe. Here is the quote that was searched for and found:
“The laws of the universe are so precise that we do not have any difficulty building a spaceship that carries a person to the moon, and we can time the landing with precision within a fraction of a second.”
The two articles that this search brought up can be found with the following links:
Moral Compensation by Bob Proctor
What you are seeking is seeking you by Chandra Alexander
Here is a list of the natural laws:
The overarching law is: “Energy Is”
- The law of perpetual transmutation
- The law of relativity
- The law of vibration
- The law of polarity
- The law of rhythm
- The law of cause and effect
- The law of gender
Changing lives:
Some years ago, I attended a self-improvement seminar and the speaker was Jim Rohn. He said, “Everything matters in life, some things a little and some things a lot, we just don’t know which is which.” Moreover, I believed him.
Now if I may, I would like to relate a personal experience, which occurred when I was a motorcycle officer that strengthened this belief and taught a young man that everything in life does indeed matter.
I was a motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and I was working speed complaints out of West Traffic Division. On 6 January 1986, I was working a speed complaint on one of the streets in the hills of Bel Air. It was around 9:30 in the morning. I had stopped at the base of a hill and had placed my radar on the handlebar of my motorcycle to monitor traffic coming down the hill.
This was a residential area and the road was narrow with numerous curves and was posted at 25 miles per hour. I had just finished writing a couple of tickets when I heard the audio on the radar, looked up the road and saw a small sports car coming down the hill. I glanced at the digital readout on the radar unit and saw that the car was traveling close to 50 miles per hour. I stepped out into the street and waved the driver over to the curb.
The driver was a young man in his early 20′s on his way to UCLA for a morning class. I told him why I had stopped him and started to write him a ticket. He, of course, did not want the ticket and tried to talk me out of it. His name was Christopher and he was a good kid. Nevertheless, he was trying his best to stop me from writing him a ticket. Never rude, always polite, but determined to convince me to let him go.
We bantered back and forth, he would raise his voice in support of his position, but I calmly explained why he should get the ticket. When he saw I was still going to write him the ticket, he asked me, “What If I had not stopped; you were not on your motorcycle, would you have chased me?” I replied, “Most likely not”.
About this time, I heard the audio on the radar and noticed that the digital readout registered 52 miles per hour. I looked up and saw a young man coming down the hill on a motorcycle. I stepped out in front of him and waved him into the curb. He was going too fast and passed us, but he was slowing down. I walked towards the motorcycle rider and my back was to Christopher.
The motorcyclist had turned around and was coming back to me. The he suddenly made a quick U-turn and sped down the hill. I turned around and walked back to Christopher and said, “Well, one got away.”
He said, “I waved him on”.
I said, “What?”
He said, “I waved him on.”
I replied, “Oh, no! You should not have done that.”
He had a puzzled look on his face and asked, “Why not, it won’t matter?”
I told him everything in life matters, some things a little and some things a lot. We just do not know which is which. The look on Christopher’s face clearly indicated to me that he did not believe me. I finished the ticket and we talked a little more about life and philosophy, then Christopher went to class and I went to court.
Three days later, I was back working that same area and had three cars stopped. While I was writing the tickets, I noticed that a car coming up the hill had stopped across from me. There were three or four people in the car. It was obvious to me that they were waiting to talk to me.
I finished the last ticket and the driver of the car got out and walked over to me. He had a very sad look about him. I could tell something was bothering him. As he approached me, he asked, “Do you remember me?”
“Yes,” I replied, “you are Christopher.”
He then said, “You taught me a valuable lesson the other day when you told me that everything in life matters. I didn’t believe you then, but now I do.”
“How do you mean?” I asked.
“Do you remember the boy on the motorcycle?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied, “I do remember him.”
“Well,” he said, “he was my roommate and that is why I waved him on. I thought I was helping him. After he turned around, he made a wrong turn and went down a street, which ended in a cul-de-sac and hit a large planter in the center of the cul-de-sac. He died instantly. You were right when you said everything in life matters.”
I was shocked and found it hard to believe, even though I had been with LAPD for 18 ½ years. We talked for a few more minutes. I expressed my sorrow, we shook hands and then we both left.
I rode to the station in Venice and looked up the traffic reports for 6 January and sure enough, there it was. I still could not believe it. I mentioned what had happened to another officer whose was in the station at the time. His response was that the kid deserved to die for fleeing the scene; I thought this could not be happening; I do not want to be like him.
As police officers and especially motor officers we are suppose to be saving lives, not pleased because some kid made a bad decision and died. Over the next several days, I gave a lot of thought to this situation and my life in general. I decided I did not want to be a police officer anymore and I needed a change. So I resigned in February 1986 after 18 ½ years with LAPD to pursue my passion, network marketing.
I thought that I should listen to my own advice about how everything matters and look at this situation as an opportunity to make some serious changes in my life. I have never regretted leaving LAPD even though my business plans did not quite work the way I had hoped back in 1986. However, over the years, they have and I have had a successful network marketing business since 1995.
Could now be the time for you to make a life change? If it is, I would encourage you to do so. Based on my experience you will not be sorry. I turned 65 in September 2008; I am in great health and could not be happier.

Here’s a thought that I received this morning from Brian Kim (briankim.net) regarding unexpected service. Steve Chandler (stevechandler.com) also talks about this type of an approach and refers to it as “customer astonishment”:
It’s unexpected large degrees of service that put you on the map, that separate you
from all the rest, that gets you talked about by others.
It’s that kind of thinking that will make you stand out from all the other job applicants.
It’s that kind of thinking that will make you stand out from all your other co-workers
when it comes time for promotions.
It’s that kind of thinking that will drive your business and get your clients talking about you to others.
It’s not enough to do what you’re expected.
It’s to see what other things can be done that others don’t – and go on to do it that
makes all the difference.
